Wider Compatibility for More Stands Pins/Studs- The 1-1/8" junior pin and 5/8" receiver have an extra screw hole on the side designed to be compatible with more light stands of varying pin/stud lengths. You can unscrew the fixing knob and selectively insert it into one of the screw holes to secure more light stands
